The father of the current owner, Alexander Kopitsch, sold wine grapes and bulk wine and did not sell bottled wine. In 2011, when the winery was handed over to Alexander and Maria, they decided to quit the traditional sales and to share their passion for natural winemaking. The 6.2 hectares of vineyards are farmed sustainably using biodynamic methods in line with Rudolf Steiner's philosophy, and the most important aspect of the vineyards is "lots of hand crafting". The most important aspect of the vineyard is "lots of hand crafting", which means that most of the work steps, such as harvesting and destemming, are carried out by hand, using as little machinery as possible. Alexander does most of the work in the vineyards, while Maria does the office work. Their winemaking motto is "Low intervention winemaking": minimal human intervention, no artificial additives in any form, spontaneous fermentation without temperature control at any time, and minimal addition of SO2 in most wines. are produced with minimal or no SO2, unfined and unfiltered. Their wines express terroir rather than fruit. The soil and stones influence the aromas and flavours, which are always subtle and never processed. They make natural wines with complexity, ageing, sincerity and soul. Their wines are characterised by crisp fruit and lots of minerality, and are available as "FUN WINE" (Homoc, Rate, Rosa, Pretty Nuts) and "PERSPEKTIVE WINE" (Perspective Wines) series. The vineyards of the Perspective series are located in NEUBERG, which belongs to the best vineyard sites in Burgenland, and the wines are produced from the oldest vineyard where they have been growing grapes for hundreds of years. A very rocky limestone hill north-west of Neusiedl am See, belonging to the Leithaberg Mountains, the hillside rolls gently towards the lake and slopes southeast or north-south. The soil is quite scarce and large quantities of limestone debris are surfacing. The grapes grown here are of high quality, offering pure, well-defined structures as well as wines of great depth. The name PERSPEKTIVE has many meanings, the word meaning 'to see through'. Firstly, the focus on the limestone soils of the vineyard. Focusing on perspective wines also gives you more flavours and aromas, and you can find diverse contours and edges. It also means that we want people to understand these wines from a perspective that is one rank higher, but no different from the wines they normally drink casually. They are also committed to reducing CO2 emissions by using minimal labels and reusing bottles and cardboard for a future that coexists with nature, and they have introduced beehives on their farm and use natural corks coated with natural beeswax from them, with no glue or plastic. Environmentally friendly, they work daily with their young children to make gentle, natural and homely wines, and their wines are all about love - for their family, their home, their vineyards and their drinkers.
