Since the 1950s, his father Gérard has been growing grapes biodynamically, never using herbicides or chemical fertilizers in the vineyards. Since then, he has been making wines based on his own ideas without being bound by the AOC, and has been producing wines with an original taste that overturns the "common sense of Alsace wines.
