Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts. Blended in December and matured for 8 months on lees in stainless steel tanks, bottled May 2022. No additives, no fining, no SO2 added at any stage. Enigma means 'mystery'. The label is inspired by the struggle between the grapes and the wine. Aromas of raspberry, acerola, plum, pink grapefruit and shiso. Body is light, soft, light and very juicy. Well-balanced acidity, minerality and soft tannins. Light, rough red wine that can be lightly chilled and guzzled. \\about Vigna 生産者について// QUANTUM WINERY クアントゥム・ワイナリー Austria - Weinvierte - Maissau オーストリア・ヴァインフィアテル・マイッサウ オーストリアのワイン生産地で最大面積の広さを誇るヴァインフィアテルの西部マイッサウにて2010 年に１ヘクタールの畑と小さなセラーよりワイン作りをスタート。 ワイン生産者兼オーナーFlorian Schuhmann Schuhmann（フロリアン・シューマン）氏は、あくまで時と共に成長していく自然の流れを貴重とし、余分な事は一切せず、自然に対する敬意をこめて、素朴なのに刺激的なワインを生産しています。 彼のワイン作りは挑戦でもあり、彼はこう表現しています。“マスクやコルセットは勿論なく、様々なフルーツや花のような味がしない。我々は、長く忘れられた果物のような味わいを感じられるワインを目標とし、素朴かつ自然本来の葡萄、ワインの味わいを表現したい。” 以前親戚がワイン造りをしていましたが廃業し、その後セラーは車の修理工場として利用されていましたが、それも廃業。その跡地を現在のセラーとして利用しており、まだ車のタイヤ、部品などが転がっている状況ですが、“今のところ、綺麗なセラーやテイスティングルームを作ることは考えておらず、その土地、環境の中でできたワインを飲んでほしい”との事。正にガレージ・ワイナリー。 現在畑は 2.5 ヘクタール。彼は、ワークショップワイナリーとして少し大きくなったけれど、名前の由来の一つにもなっている QUA NTUM = ごく少量という意味も込めて、小規模だからできる自然と向き合ったワイン作りを続けていくと話しています。畑ではトラクターを使用せず、作業は全て手作業で行われ、ビオディナミ農法にて、灌漑、剪定などを行わず、殆ど手をかけずに葡萄を育てています。畑の状況を確認する時は、畑にいる虫の種類や量を確認するとのこと。様々な生態系が上手く回っていれば、葡萄も健康に育っていると考えているからです。 ワインは年によって味わいが変わる為、個性的なラべルも毎年変更。時折、ワインとの関連性を持ったラベルもありますが、絵や音楽が好きな為、基本的にはフィーリングで決められています。 全てのワインは、野生酵母による自発的発酵、無清澄、無濾過、無添加もしくは ボトリング時のみ極少量の SO2 添加にて生産されています。また、マイッサウの降水量は年間を通して、非常に少なく、ドライ・ファーミングを実地しており、福岡正信さん（日本の自然農法の大家といわれる人物）を参考に畑と向き合っているとの事です。 彼のワインは、自由で型にはまらず、一言で言うならオルタナティブ・ワイン。でも、旨味と柔らかさ、素朴さが全面にあります。ラベル、味わい、フィロソフィーにギャップがあるところが、彼の最大の特徴で、私達を毎年楽しくさせてくれる理由がそれらにあると思います。 2020年、COVID 19 コロナの影響により、ワイナリー、飲食店、ワインショップが窮地に追いやられた際、“Drinking Against Sinking Sinking”というプロジェクトを立ち上げました。世界各国のワイナリーに協賛を求め、各ワイナリーの対象ワインに同じラベルを貼り販売、必要経費以外、売り上げを全て寄付するイベントを主催した一面もあります。 The winemaking began in 2010 with one hectare of vineyards and a small cellar in Meissau in the western part of the Weinviertel, the largest wine-growing region in Austria. We aim to produce wines that taste like long-forgotten fruits and express the rustic, natural and original taste of grapes and wine." A relative used to make wine but went out of business, and the cellar was then used as a car repair shop, which also went out of business. The site is now used as a cellar, and there are still car tyres and parts lying around, but "at the moment we are not thinking of building a beautiful cellar or tasting room, we want people to drink wine made on the land and in the environment. ". A true garage winery. The vineyard currently covers 2.5 hectares. He says that although they have grown a bit as a workshop winery, they will continue to make wines in close contact with nature, which is only possible on a small scale, as one of the meanings of their name is qua ntum = very small quantity. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, with no irrigation, no pruning and very little work. When checking the condition of the vineyard, they check the type and amount of insects in the vineyard. This is because they believe that if the various ecosystems are working well, the grapes are growing healthily. The wines change in flavour from year to year, so the individual labels also change every year. Occasionally, the labels have a connection with the wine, but because of his love of drawing and music, the decision is basically based on feeling. All wines are produced with spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, no fining, no filtration and no or very little SO2 added at bottling. The rainfall in Meissau is very low throughout the year, and dry farming is practised, with Masanobu Fukuoka (a Japanese natural farming master) as a guide. His wines are free, unconventional and, in a word, alternative. But they are full of flavour, softness and simplicity. The gaps between labels, flavours and philosophies are his best features, and they are the reason why he makes us happy year after year. In 2020, when the COVID 19 Corona left wineries, eateries and wine shops in the lurch, he launched a project called 'Drinking Against Sinking Sinking'. One aspect of the project was to organise an event in which wineries from around the world were asked to sponsor an event in which they would sell their wines under the same label and donate all the proceeds, except for the necessary expenses.
