The palate is fresh and natural, with cherry and small red fruit flavors, honeyed and full-flavored rosé. \\about Vigneron 生産者について// 生産者 Vigneron　ジャン・イヴ Jean-Yves モン・ヴァルのジャン・イヴとソフィーとの出会いは、ひょんな事から始まった。今年(2022年)の初め、某オージー＆NZのナチュール系インポーターと共同で試飲会を開催した際、その晩一緒に飲んだ時その方が秘蔵のワインを持ってきた。それがジャン・イヴがNZで造ったピノ・ノワールで、飲んでみると気品があり、皆とても気に入ったのだった。実はジャン・イヴはイヴォン・メトラで3年、マチュー・バレで3年、その後オーストラリアで3年、ニュージーで3年と、world wideかつ長いワイン造りの経験を積んでおり、その後フランスへ戻ってとてもいい条件の畑を手に入れ、2019年からこの地でワイン造りを始めた。手に入れた6haのうち3haは、ドメーヌ・モンリューのエミール・エレディアから譲り受けた畑で、盆栽の様に小さく丁寧に手入れのされた樹齢90年もの樹を含むとても印象的なものだった。 ジャン・イヴの造り出すワインは従来の濃いラングドックとは一線を画すもので、火山性のバザルト土壌(玄武岩)が程よい酸をもたらし、フレッシュで軽やかな果実感と古い樹齢による深い味わいが特徴の、新時代の味わいだ！ My first encounter with Jean-Yves and Sophie of Mont Val began by chance. At the beginning of this year (2022), when we held a joint tasting with a certain Aussie & NZ natural importer, he brought his treasured wine with him when we drank together that night. It was a Pinot Noir made by Jean-Yves in NZ, and we all liked it very much. Jean-Yves had a long and world wide winemaking experience: 3 years at Yvon Metra, 3 years at Mathieu Barré, 3 years in Australia, 3 years in New Zealand, then back to France where he acquired a vineyard in very good conditions and started making wine here in 2019. He has been making wine here since 2019. Of the 6 hectares he acquired, 3 hectares were acquired from Emile Eredia of Domaine Montrieu, and are very impressive, including 90 year old vines that are small and carefully cared for like bonsai trees. The wines produced by Jean-Yves are a departure from the traditional dark Languedoc, with the volcanic basalt soils providing good acidity and a new age palate characterized by fresh, light fruit and deep flavors from the old vines!
